Christ Church Chemists’ Affinity Group 220 Dinner

The Christ Church Chemists’ Affinity Group is organising a dinner in college on 16 March 2018 to mark Richard Wayne’s 80th Birthday and Tony Cheetham’s and Martin Grossel’s 70th Birthdays.

Richard was the Tutor in Physical Chemistry from 1966 until his retirement in 2006. Tony was the Tutor in Inorganic Chemistry from 1974 until 1991 at which point he moved to the Materials Research Laboratory at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Martin became the Lecturer in Organic Chemistry in 1973, a position which he held until 2016.

This event is open to all members of the Affinity Group and any other members of college who might wish to attend. The dinner will be preceded by talks exploring aspects of the development of Chemistry at Christ Church. Guests (non-members of Christ Church) are welcome.

We look forward to welcoming all generations of Christ Church Chemists to this reunion which should bring back many happy memories! We would also encourage you to dig out any relevant photographs of your time in college and send digital copies to fiona.holdsworth@btinternet.com for inclusion in montages to be displayed on the day and to be added to the Chemistry Affinity Group archives.
